Deborah Lehmann is studying economics and public policy at Brown University, where she was recently awarded a Royce Fellowship. She writes for the Brown Daily Herald, covering campus news and trends in higher education. A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, she enjoys cooking with fresh, seasonal produce from her local farmers market.

Ann Cooper is the director of nutrition services for the Berkeley Unified School District in California and co-author of “Lunch Lessons: Changing the Way We Feed Our Children.” She has worked in public school cafeterias in New York City, Harlem and Bridgehampton, NY to teach students why good food choices matter and bring fresh, organic lunches to all students. 

The former executive chef for the Putney Inn in Vermont, Ann is also the founder of Lunch Lessons LLC, a consulting company, and F3: Food Family and Farming Foundation, which both work to improve children’s health. She is a former Kellog Food and Society Policy Fellow, a past president of Women Chefs and Restauranteurs, and a former member of the USDA’s National Organic Standards Board.
